Kentucky Spring

first light, bird song, dawn,
a baby rabbit, brush pile from winter's ice storm,
a wren, on purple iris,
a dove, on pink azalia,
a cardinal, on white dogwood,
a green hummingbird, on redbud,
a yellow finch, on leafing maple,
an indigo bluebird, on budding oak,
robin eggs, turquoise blue, nest in cedar branch, evergreen,
black newborn calf with mother rest, orange sagebrush wildflower meadow,
geese, over flooding muddy Green River,
yellow pink blue gray red whirling clouds, stormed sunrise,
railroad tracks, rusted bridge,
hand carved Jerusalem Ridge cedar cane, long walk,
coal train whistle blows, far away,
Cherokee spirits, on gentle breeze, whisper whisper whisper,
lightning distant, thunder rumbles rolls,
misty rain, angels sing,
New Jerusalem, mother earth, birth,
